S.C.A.M. is an independently run, reader-funded project. No party, politician, PAC, or government body funds or influences it in any way — the only people who keep it running are the people who choose to chip in.
Presumption of innocence: Charged and accused individuals are presumed innocent. This shows the status of public allegations and legal processes, not guilt. Data reflects publicly reported cases as of the stated date and is not exhaustive.
Independence comes first
A donation does not grant any influence over what gets published, how cases are scored, or any other editorial decision. Those calls are made by the same editorial process as always — documented sources, public records, and the corrections and right-of-reply process — and nothing else.
Donations are received by Just Like That Productions (Pty) Ltd, which runs S.C.A.M. as JLT IT. It is not a registered non-profit or public benefit organisation, so donations are not tax-deductible. Donations never influence what is published or how it is scored.
We do not accept donations from political parties, candidates, or their representatives.
